I am a member of the Good Karma, an NGO based in Singapore. I got an opportunity to design and develop their website. I am happy to share the site which went live this week at goodkarmasg.org. I created the website using the most cutting-edge technologies with React, NextJS, and Fastify (a lightweight framework that has recently gained a lot of traction as a viable alternative to ExpressJS. These technologies are rapidly becoming the norm for web development, outpacing traditional full stack options in terms of usage and prevalence. The development process was smooth and efficient, and the setup of projects is straightforward. Additionally, the application makes use of caching and other performance-enhancing techniques, which become increasingly effective as the app is used more frequently.
With WebGPU, web developers can now access the full power of the GPU, which opens up a whole new realm of possibilities for interactive and graphics-intensive web applications. This technology allows for faster rendering, smoother animations, and more realistic 3D graphics, which in turn can create more immersive and engaging user experiences.
Additionally, WebGPU allows for the use of modern graphics techniques such as ray tracing and global illumination, which were previously not possible on the web. This opens up new possibilities for fields such as game development, architectural visualization, and product design.
Furthermore, the cross-platform nature of the internet means that these interactive experiences can be accessed by a wider audience, regardless of the device or operating system they are using. This level of accessibility is a game changer for web development and allows for a more inclusive and diverse user base.
Overall, the emergence of WebGPU and other new technologies is making web development an increasingly exciting and dynamic field. With the potential for more interactive and immersive experiences, the future of the web looks brighter than ever before.
